In a democratic society and capitalistic economy you have two options to exert influence: vote-with-your-vote and vote-with-your-wallet (todo: ref quote yt video)

If you want to influence the course of the world with the way you spend your money you not only have the option to choose your spendings, but also what happens when you don’t use your money.

In fact your money never sits still. Banks hand out loans to gouvernments, companies and individuals to turn a profit with your stored money.

By choosing your bank and their investment policy you can control if your money will fund the fossil fuel industry or the green energy sector.

In my search for a fully sustainable bank account in Germany I came up with the classic banks UmweltBank and GLS and the fintechs Bunq (NL) and Tomorrow.

I chose Bunq with its remarkably high interest for savings (free) and Tomorrow (4€/month) with its lowest currency exchange fees on credit card transactions (0.0-0.4% over ecb course) for my daily payments in Norway.
